Oglethorpe Sturton & Gillibrand are proud to have been sponsors of the Lancaster Beer Festival which raised over £17,000.00 for local charities.

Members of Staff attended on the opening night to sample some of the 60 real ales that were on offer:

David Park, one of our partners who deals with corporate, commercial and employment law was drawn to Tempest (an English Pale Ale brewed by Cross Bay Brewery Morecambe).

Mark Hutchinson-Lyons, one of our private client team who routinely deals with Lasting Powers of Attorney, Deputyship Orders and Applications to the Court of Protection enjoyed a Senior Moment (a classic British Bitter brewed by Appleby Brewery).

Murray Wilson, a member of our tenacious litigation team, felt that Red Bull Terrier (a Premium Bitter brewed by Barngates brewery in Ambleside) stood out from the crowd.

Oglethorpe Sturton & Gillibrand’s sponsored ale was JC (a well-balanced copper ale from multi award winning brewery Hopstar). A great evening was had by all: real ale and raising money for charity – the very definition of responsible drinking.
