Your will is an opportunity to consider issues such as:
- Inheritance tax planning
- Asset protection
- Nursing home and care fees
- Setting up a trust
- Potential challenges to your Will
- Business Succession
- Ensuring the farm on an estate can pass on to the next generation
- Appointing guardians for children
We have particular expertise in claims for agricultural property relief, succession planning for farmers and landowners, and business property relief for companies partnerships, sole traders and those owning assets in such entities. We can help to maximise the inheritance tax relief in terms of structures created during your lifetime and dealing with claims on death.
We will work in conjunction with your accounts and financial advisers to make sure assets (in your business and personally owned, such as, pensions, and life policies) are set up in the most efficient way. We have close working relationships with many of the accountants and independent financial advisers in and around Lancaster, Kirkby Lonsdale, and the South Lakes as well as beyond.
