Laura qualified in 2018 and has over 5 years’ experience as a practising Litigation solicitor, specialising in civil litigation matters. She joined Oglethorpe Sturton & Gillibrand solicitors Litigation Department in 2021.

Specialist areas that Laura covers include:

Landlord and tenant disputes including residential notices to quit and possession proceedings, protected tenancies under the Rent Act 1977 and Rent (Agriculture) Act 1976, commercial tenant default and possession and Landlord & Tenant Act 1954 applications.

Land & Estates, Property and Agriculture Litigation including boundary disputes, Party Walls, rights of way, easements and restrictive covenants. Claims for adverse possession and claims in trespass, private nuisance, orders for sale, constructive trusts, proprietary estoppel. Farming partnerships and agricultural tenancies.

Wills, Trusts, and Probate disputes including validity of Wills testamentary capacity, knowledge and approval and undue influence, 1975 Inheritance Act claims for reasonable financial provision and disputes concerning the administration of estates and trusts.

Commercial contract / business disputes including all aspects of debt recovery, the enforcement / protection of contractual rights and remedies: sale and supply contracts, partnership disputes, shareholder disputes, machinery/equipment/motor vehicle disputes.

After qualifying with a first-class degree, Laura went on to pass her Legal Practise Course with distinction at the University of Law in Manchester.
