Oglethorpe Sturton and Gillibrand co-sponsored one of Kirkby Lonsdale Rugby Club’s most anticipated and nail biting derbys when the first team took on the Vale of Lune.

The weather was remarkably good and a home fixture for the forthcoming playoffs was at stake. A hot and sunny day brought out the crowds.

Guests at Underley Park were served a mouth watering hog roast in the marquee to whet their appetites…or calm their nerves, either way everyone enjoyed themselves!

After lunch, the guests stepped out into the brilliant sunshine to watch the game. A great match between the local sides resulted in victory for Kirkby Lonsdale 39 – 26 (view the full match report by the club on their website www.klrufc.co.uk.)

A guest of Oglethorpe Sturton and Gillibrand commented after the event by saying “…I enjoyed meeting your colleagues and other guests and renewing a lot of old acquaintances….What a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon.”

Oglethorpe Sturton and Gillibrand wishes to thank all their guests, Kirkby Lonsdale Rugby Club and their co-sponsor NFU Mutual Kendal branch for their support in making the day such a huge success!
