ROSS SIMMONS

Ross joined the firm in July 2022 after working as a caseworker for a pro bono law centre in Lancaster and Morecambe.

Ross finished his studies in 2019, studying in Preston obtaining a first in his undergraduate LLB and postgraduate LPC at the University of Central Lancashire. After graduating, Ross returned to his hometown Lancaster and spent the beginning of his career working in legal aid practice.

Ross is currently in the firm’s Litigation department assisting Laura Bright and David Barnes in a variety of work. He is looking forward to using his skills in a new setting and learning the ways of private practice.

In his spare time, Ross enjoys reading books, exploring different countries and helping on his father’s allotment.

  • Housing including residential landlord and tenant, possession claims brought by a landlord, lender or local authority, contractual terms and breaches, harassment, disrepair, discrimination in housing and non-payment of rent and neighbour disputes.
  • Employment including performance and capability management, grievances and disciplinaries, dispute resolution, detriments, contractual terms, restrictive covenants i.e. restraint of trade and non-dealing clauses, Employment Tribunal procedure and Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment).
  • Consumer including disputes in relation to consumer goods and services, contractual obligations and discrimination.
  • Social Welfare and Education including making and managing claims for welfare benefits, appeals against benefit decisions, dispues in relation to local education authorities, including discrimination, children out of school, admissions and Education, Health and Care plan appeals.
