Tanya Mellor and Murray Wilson are the latest additions to Oglethorpe, Sturton & Gillibrand.
For litigation expert Murray it’s a chance to work in the city he has called home for the past 10 years. “It’s such a lovely city and it’s great to have the opportunity to both live and work here in Lancaster and build up relationships with clients in the area,” he said. Brought up in Ulverston and Barrow he was always a regular visitor to Lancaster as his father Richard Wilson was a consultant urologist at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary until his retirement a few years ago. Murray, 40, is married with two children.
Tanya is a specialist in residential property law and will operate out of the firm’s newly refurbished Kirkby Lonsdale office. Originally from Reading, she relocated to Cumbria as she wanted to be close to the Lakeland Fells and went on to work for a Carlisle legal firm before deciding to spend a few years bringing up her two children. Together with her partner, who runs a law practice in Kirkby Stephen, Cumbria, they make the most of the local countryside and are members of Howgill Harriers Running Club; Tanya is also a keen climber and fell walker. “I try to make time for the fell running but it’s tricky, I’ve run the Kirkby Stephen Yomp (24 miles) and would love to do that again,” she said.
