Specialist areas that Laura covers include:

Wills, estate planning and Lasting Powers of Attorney including the drafting of straightforward and complex Wills including trust structures as well as estate planning with consideration given to inheritance and capital gains tax. Lasting Powers of Attorney for business and personal matters and registration of Enduring Powers of Attorney.

Administration of estates both testate and intestate, calculation of inheritance tax and claims for relief, negotiation with HM Revenue and Customs. Applications for various Grants of Probate including Administration Ad Colligenda Bona, Administration De Bonis Non and Double Probate. Advising on and drafting Deeds of Variation for beneficiaries.

Court of Protection applications for Orders covering financial matters including Deputyship matters and statutory wills.

Trust Creation and Administration acting for both settlors and trustees in the creation and administration of trusts including advising on the tax implications of various courses of action. Dealing with registration formalities at HM Revenue and Customs, reporting trust events and dealing with periodic charges to Inheritance Tax. Registering charitable trusts with the charity commission.

Laura is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and is studying towards the globally recognised STEP Diploma in Trusts and Estates in England and Wales having sat and passed three of the four requisite examinations.
