DAVID PARK

David is a solicitor with experience of a wide range of matters affecting businesses and companies. He has particular expertise in employment law and has provided sensible and pragmatic employment law advice for over 15 years. He also has extensive experience in dealing with general commercial matters including buying and selling companies and businesses and property matters.

David was brought up in the Lancaster area and is from a family with a farming background. He enjoys following cricket, football and rugby union and plays football and golf. He is a member of a local church.

David trained and qualified with the firm in 1997 and became a partner in 2002. He is a past President of the Lancaster and Morecambe District Law Society and is a Director and the Company Secretary of Lancaster and District Chamber of Commerce Trade and Industry Limited. David is a director of his family’s haulage business which has given him considerable commercial experience, and a wider view of clients’ business and legal requirements.

  • Sale and Purchase of companies and businesses;
  • Advising employers on Employment Contracts, Staff Handbooks and company policies and avoiding tribunals;
  • Bringing and defending Employment Tribunal claims, including some advocacy;
  • Representing clients in the Employment Appeal Tribunal;
  • Defending and bringing discrimination cases;
  • Advising employers on redundancy processes from one employee to over 50 employees;
  • Advising on TUPE matters;
  • Drafting and preparing Settlement Agreements (formerly known as Compromise Agreements);
  • All aspects of commercial and agricultural property including sales and purchases, leases , options and refinancing;
  • Licensing applications including premises and personal licences.
