David qualified in 1997 and has over 25 years of experience as a practising solicitor covering a wide range of work in the Commercial and Agricultural departments. David trained and qualified with the firm and became a partner in 2002 and senior partner in 2021.

Outside of work, David enjoys playing football (still!) and golf and is a season ticket holder with Morecambe FC. Hill walking and reading are other hobbies and he is a director of the Lancaster and Morecambe District Chamber of Commerce.

Specialist areas that David covers include:

• Commercial Property including acquisitions and disposals, acting for landlords and for tenants, dealing with options, conditional contracts and promotion agreements, refinancing and secured lending including acting for a number of banks.

• Agricultural Work including buying and selling land and farms, agricultural leases and licences, acting for landowners in granting options, promotion agreements and/or conditional contracts with developers, renewable energy sites and property finance, including acting for a number of banks.

• Employment Law both contentious and non-contentious, including making and defending employment tribunal claims, advising on the application of TUPE, drafting employment contracts and handbooks and giving general employment advice.

• Corporate Commercial including buying and selling businesses and companies, preparing shareholders agreements and partnership agreements and advising on commercial contracts.

• Licensing including applying for new premises licences and alterations, transfers of existing licences and general advice.
