Oglethorpe Sturton and Gillibrand have been getting into the festive spirit at our Lancaster office today by selling lots of lovely treats and playing Christmas themed games to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society.
Alzheimer’s Society is a charity very close to our hearts at Oglethorpe Sturton and Gillibrand as the disease affects many of our clients and their relatives. Many of our lawyers are Dementia Friends.
There are currently 850,000 people with dementia in the UK, with numbers expected to rise to over 1 million by 2025 and two thirds of the cost of dementia is paid by people with dementia and their families. There is no cure for Alzheimer’s disease or any other type of dementia. Delaying the onset of dementia by five years would halve the number of deaths from the condition, saving 30,000 lives a year. Alzheimer’s Society is committed to improving care for people today and working towards finding a cure.
We are pleased to announce that we have raised nearly £100 for the Alzheimer’s Society, so we all deserve to be on the Nice List this year!
